ShepNet is an educational program of The Shepherd's Center of Greensboro. Shepherd’s Center’s mission is to encourage older adults to help each other pursue independent and active lives of quality, enriched and supported by learning and service activities in caring fellowship. Friends Homes, Inc., a non-profit Quaker retirement community, provides two classrooms and parking facilities at 925A New Garden Road in Greensboro, NC.
Senior Resources of Guilford provided space for a small computer classroom in early years.
BellSouth was an initial sponsor helping to fund the startup of the Greensboro Learning Center program in 1996. From 1999-2007, they provided teaching facilities at their office building near Four Seasons Town Center.
The southeastern AT&T Foundation in 2007 awarded a grant to support a new
classroom and upgrade Shepherd's Center office equipment.
Hewlett-Packard has supported the local learning center by providing much needed equipment that is used to enhance classroom teaching and to promote the learning center in our community.
The Community Foundation provided a grant for expansion of Greensboro Learning Center services.
Generous financial contributions beyond course fees have been received from hundreds of individuals served by the ShepNet Computer Center for Seniors.
